50th Anniversary of “Bloody Sunday”

Saturday, March 7th marks the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” where Alabama State Troopers and local police brutally attacked non-violent demonstrators attempting to march from ‪‎Selma‬ to Montgomery in support of voting rights for African Americans. The event is largely credited with spurring the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and shown here through archival footage by an unnamed videographer.
